Island Tackle has proudly served the Cape Fear Coast and Pleasure Island since 1985 when it opened as a small community hardware. In 2000, two local residents, Dennis and Wanda Barbour, purchased the growing business. In 2008 they took it to the next level by expanding the Island Tackle facility and adding additional staff members. Over the years the company has faithfully served both the area residents and vacationing visitors far beyond just the sale of basic hardware and fishing items.

Within 30 minutes, the extremely helpful and courteous employee had me set up with a new pole, reel wound, bait set up, and a tackle box. This store is a great place to shop for the salt water fisherman. They have just about anything and everything you need. They have a good selection of tackle, lures, baits, accessories, rods and reels. Their prices are about the same as you will find anywhere else. They are close to the Carolina Beach Boat ramp which makes them available for whatever you left at home and don't want to drive back to get.
